Some things that work for some people:


Tea Tree essential oil (melaleuca) put directly on the fungus;


garlic clove compress (mash a clove and wrap it on the toe at night);

You can try topical lamisil, and other antifungals but as the fungus lives under the nail, these can take a very long time (months) to work. Lamisil works quickly, but make sure you get a baseline liver function panel done before you start it, especially if you drink heavily, or have had hepatitis in the past. You take the drug for no more than 3 months.
Listerine antiseptic mouthwash soak daily for 90 days.
Melalucca Oil works well..but it is under the nail...unless the nail bed has released that part of the nail it will be tough to reach the source of the fungus. Soak your foot/feet in a bleach and water mixture, then put pure melalucca oil on the affected area...don't forget to moisturize the rest of your feet too after the bleach bath. Also don't forget that the fungus can spread, use gloves. If you use any toenail clippers or files on your affected nails..you need to soak them in bleach water or antifungal solution before using them on any other nail.
Try bleach or rubbing alcohol. It will sting but it will help kill the cooddies.
Tea tree oil will work, a drop mixed in with a bit of lotion once a day.
I recommend treating it internally with all-natural Optiflora.

Never tried it but I read Vicks vaporub put on it for a week or so. Can't vouch, but it's inexpensive and worth a shot and doesn't appear it would be harmful if it didn't work.
