How do you prevent nail fungus on the toes?

To prevent it, you should wear socks that let your foot breath and can absorb the sweat from your feet. Cotton socks are best. If you already have some sort of fungus on your toes, then you can use foot sprays like Tinactin. If it's more serious and your toe is in pain, not just itchy...I'd suggest you go out and buy some tea tree oil and apply it directly to your toes and around your toenails. It's a natural anti-fungicide which is pretty powerful. My girlfriend had foot fungus on her big toe and when she started using the oil, the pain went away in a day. Unfortunately, she treated the fungus too late and her nail is slowly falling off. A new one will grow back but it will take some time. How do you prevent nail fungus on the toes?
I can't offer advice to prevention but to get rid of it. Vick's vapo rub, just rub some in at night before bed and wear cotton socks on topHow do you prevent nail fungus on the toes?
After bathing or showering, dry your feet thoroughly before putting on socks and shoes. Sprinkle some cornstarch powder into your socks and into your shoes. Wear cotton socks (more absorbant and breathable than synthetic). Wear cotton or leather shoes (also more breathable). Change your socks and shoes once a day and use powder again. Get out of your socks and shoes when you get home and let feet get air.

The bottom line is that fungus loves to grow in warm, damp places. Keep them dry and you should be fine.
