id just keep going at it with the lamisil... if that doesnt work get a prescription. its tough to treat toe fungus, especially under the nail bed so it might take awhile....Besides Lamisil, does anybody know of a product that WILL cure nail fungus under your nail bed?

You're a nurse. You know that onychomycosis is in the nail bed. Most any systemic antifungal can be used - fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, etc. -- and has been used with success.

Tea Tree oil if you put it on your nails a few times a day,and keep them dry this works much faster then lamisil,and its only 5-10 dollars at wal-mart,or your local health and natural food stores. It worked for me.Try it

Is there non prescription treatment for toe nail fungus?
Dermatophye infestations are particularly nasty and extremely difficult to cure. I had some success with a combination of (wait for it) Vicks Vap-o-rub and Tea Tree Oil, but the following year the discoloration came back. To be really effective, this method requires that you either thin the nail down with a file, or remove part of it so you can reach the actual fungus.
For onychomycosis, ';pulse'; oral therapy with the newer imidazoles (itraconazole or fluconazole) or allylamines (terbinafine) is considerably less expensive than continuous treatment but has a somewhat lower mycologic cure rate. The only other option is to use a topical ointment (Lamisil cream), and that has to be applied after EVERY shower or bath. And the worst part is that no matter which treatment you decide upon they all take up to six months to see any improvement!!!

Get some CLOBET cream from your pharmacy. I use it and have had good success with it. Rub it in good sparingly three times a day. It will take a while. When you think it is gone then keep using the cream for another five days. It may come Beck so keep the cream around and even after bath put some on as it will not harm you in any way.
Yes there are OTC remedies but they take quite a while of religious use! soak the toes in white vinegar and warm water twice a day and scrub with a soft brush under the toe nails,They should clear up in a few weeks,and be sure to wash the brush and spritz with bleach after each use!

No. There are some things you can try to do if it's not gotten too bad yet. If you have all your toe nails with fungus, just try to get a prescription for Lamisil (the cream is not going to help the nail, you need to get the tablets). Nothing else is going to work (even with a prescription medication you have to wait until all your nail grows back again).
If you only have one nail, you can try the white vinegar wash, but make sure to do it twice a day, EVERYDAY, until it goes completely away. You can also try Gentian Violet. The big recommendation is keeping your feet and nails dry throughout the process.

buy some hydrogen peroxide solution from the chemist and dilute it with water. soak the nail and fingertip for 3-10mins every day.
if youve got acrylic nails have them removed straight away as the weight of the acrylic can pull the nail further away from the nail bed.
