I have a finger nail fungus and have been to dermatologists, used home remedies, any suggestions?

Lamisil tablets is what you need. it is a daily pill you take for about 3 months. talk to your doctor about itI have a finger nail fungus and have been to dermatologists, used home remedies, any suggestions?
If you're looking for a home remedy, don't laugh, buy the generic kind of blue mouth wash, put your finger or toes in a plastic container of some sort and pour some of the generic blue mouth wash in it and keep the affected nail in it for about a half hour or so every day and you should see some improvement in a few weeks time; keep doing this for a month or so and you won't have to take pills that may have a serious side effect with your liver. When you remove the affected nail, don't rinse it but dry it. Of course, it takes time but you ain't messing with your liver!I have a finger nail fungus and have been to dermatologists, used home remedies, any suggestions?
Did the Dr not start you on Lamasil? That is usually the treatment they will use. I have heard that Vicks Vapor Rub ...rubbed all around the nail works also...I know it stinks. But they say it works.
This is simply a lotion that has natural anti- fungal tea tree oils in it. It will help get rid of the fungus and moisturize your nails and hands or even your whole body!

There is some stuff called ZetaClear at http://curediseasenaturally.com/ssc/a/zeta that worked for me. Believe me I feel for you. That stuff is bad. Hope this helps. I think they even have a free trial right now. What's the best product for nail fungus?
A prescription from your doctor is the only guaranteed thing to work. You can get a tincture that you brush onto your niles after filing them down, but it can be tricky to keep up with it all the time, so you can take tablets instead, but they have side effects - they can make you feel a bit queasy and anxious sometimes, although when I caught a nail infection once I did not take the tablets every single day (I stopped for a couple of days when the side effects got bad) and they still got rid of the infection.
I tried vinegar....seemed to work slightly, but smelled.

I tried oregano oil. I heard it would work but it smelled so badly that I missed the vinegar smell.

In the end, I opted for the prescription and took it half of the recommended time because of its side effects/ possible side effects.

    Hi Coneja,

If I were you, I would see a specialist.

That being said, I had the same problem so I can relate to you. I found a product that is 100% natural that took care of fungus and made my nails look healthy again (it was about time with summer coming soon! ;-)

It is ';Zetaclear System';. You can check it out here:

MisakiDoes any body know, what can I do, or take to get rid of toe nail fungus?
I have never heard of a home remedy, yet, that worked. See your doctor or a podiatrist (a doctor that specializes in feet). They will be able to prescribe a medication that works. There is Lamisil tablets, you will usually need blood work before you can take these because of problems it may cause. There are also topicals that you apply directly to the affected nails.

Nail fungus can spread, so see a doctor as soon as possible. Don't expect immediate results, it takes about 1 year for a toenail to totally grow out from root to end. Good luck.
First, go to your general physician and he will most likely prescribe some anti-fungal medication. I think I have also heard about putting Vick's vapor rub, or Vaseline on the nails. I'm not sure completely about the creams, but your doctor will definitely know what to give you. My brother had toe nail fungus, and took some pills he received from the doctor, and the fungus cleared up. Sorry though, I don't remember the name of the pills. Good Luck!!
Yes I have also used the zetaclear and it really helped my nails to look better!

    I got a free trial

Is there a home remedy for toe nail fungus?

I was told by a old lady and man when I worked with them If you use vicks vapor rub on your toes everyday it helps them healIs there a home remedy for toe nail fungus?
You may get affected by the toenail fungus in damp areas such as public gyms, shower stalls or swimming pools. Toe nail fungus can spread from one toe to another or to other body parts. Athletes and people who give trauma to their toe by wear tight-fitting shoes or tight hosiery are at great risk of toe nail fungus. Other reasons may be abnormal pH level of the skin, not drying off the feet thoroughly after bathing or exercise, and decreased immunity.

Here are some ways to cure it:

Toe nail fungus remedy using tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is a potent natural antiseptic and fungicide that will help fight your fungus. Apply undiluted tea tree oil with olive oil to the affected toe nail. Alternatively you can put few drops of tea tree oil on toenails and rub it thoroughly every day.

    Using Listerine mouthwash

Soak your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toe nails looking healthy.

Curing toe nail fungus using warm water and natural apple cider vinegar

Soak your toenails for 15 - 20 minutes in basin full of warm water and natural apple cider vinegar mixed in equal proportion. When done, dry your toenails thoroughly. Use a hair dryer on warm setting to absorb all the moisture in and around the toes

Tea tree oil and Lavender oil

Put equal amount of tea tree oil and lavender oil on a cotton ball or swab. Dab it under the top edge of the toe nail and surrounding area 2 or 3 times a day. Tea tree oil is natural antibiotic and lavender will help fight the infection and prevent skin irritation

    Using Oregano and Olive oil

Blend 2 drops of Oregano essential oil with a tsp of olive oil. Apply this mixture on the affected area daily for NOT more than three weeks. Oregano essential oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, antiparasitical, antiviral, analgesic and antifungal properties

    AHA creams

Lather AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) creams on to your feet before going to bed. This will flush the rough scaly skin from your feet that is more prone to growing fungusIs there a home remedy for toe nail fungus?
You鈥檙e not alone this is something that millions of Americans deal with every year. I have one a much of research on the topic (personal reasons) :) and here is what I found.

1st. I have heard of ';home remedies'; that range from Vicks Vapor Rub to Vinegar but if you follow some people鈥檚 forum post who try this it seems to never fully go away. Actually it interesting to see that even here people recomend things like Vicks Rub. It seems like this never fully cures your toenail fungus.

However there are some internet sold treatments that people report work really well. After several months of use these remedies should cure the fungus, and they all come with 100% money back guarantees so you really have nothing to loose. Check out the wellness links below because you should take a look at the actual site to get an idea of what they are all about!
I work at a hospital and a podiatrist told me that vicks vapor rub will help. However, once you have it, you have it. You can't ever get rid of it completely, but you can make it ';almost'; disappear.
    Cappy,

Try lotrimin cream first. Apply it right to the nails.
    soak your feet in windex

How to cure toe nail fungus using home remedies?

    Here are some remedies:

Soak the feet in a footbath of distilled vinegar every night.

Rub some Vicks Vapor Rub on the nails every day.

Get a bottle of Tea Tree Oil, and rub some of this on the nails every day.

I would try the the vinegar first, heard it's amazing. How to cure toe nail fungus using home remedies?
Vicks Vapor Rub works on all feet issues. You will have to cut back the toe nail as best as possible to the nail bed. Use a q-tip to get it into the corners of your toenail beds. Do this three times a day and put on clean socks each time. My daughter did this and within a week got rid of warts, cracked bleeding skin, and a very severe toe nail fungus. When she cut back the toe nail, there was less than half left. Don't be afraid to do this as the toe nail is dead where the fungus is at.How to cure toe nail fungus using home remedies?
heard of using bleach on it don't know if it worked.
    tea tree oil works great

you gotta do it regularly, and keep doing it so it won't come back,

the down side is that it smells pretty strong
When dealing with nail fungus, I find it better to use a two prong attack. You can use tea tree oil topically. I also use organic oil of oregano both topically and internally. When using oil of oregano , it should be diluted with tea tree oil. I might also consider adding a probiotic to your regimen. This will help your body to increase the good bacteria in your system. I would also advise to follow the candida diet. * Avoid sugar. According to Dr. Crook, sugar promotes the growth of yeast. The total carbohydrate intake per day is often limited. For example, during the initial two to three weeks on the diet, the carbohydrate intake may be restricted to less than 60 grams per day, depending on age, health, activity level, and the extent of food sensitivities. Low-carbohydrate foods such as meat, chicken, turkey, shellfish, non-starchy vegetables, and certain nuts are emphasized instead. As symptoms subside, the carbohydrate total of the diet is often gradually increased.

    * Avoid foods containing any type of yeast. This includes fermented foods such as bread made with yeast, cheese, tomato paste, mushrooms, and beer. Although Dr. Crook believed that people with Candida overgrowth would also be allergic to other fungi, not all practitioners believe this restriction is necessary.

List of Foods to Avoid Entirely

Here is a sample list of foods to temporarily avoid while on a candida diet.

Oregano oil works well, if you can stand the smell.

I heard that vinegar is the best for eliminating nail fungus. Is this true?

At times nail fungus can be caused by a virus. To fully eliminate/cure this viral outbreak you may need a prescription from the doctor.
